I’m a full time artist/educator after many years of employment as an instructional designer and part time artist. My paintings are free flowing movements, a dance with nature. My “Margo Couture” silk accessories include scarves, tunics, ponchos and vests to brighten the style of all who wear them. I enjoy working with a variety of mediums, acrylic, silk and/or wire; they provide abundant opportunities for expression. As an avid walker, bicyclist and gardener I’m inspired by nature. I combine a mixture of colors you may not see together in nature, yet they exist in nature. I have been painting for over 25 years and have been accepted in many juried exhibits in the Atlanta, Charlotte, and Austin areas. My “Forest Nap” received 3 rd  Place in the Imagine 2017 art show, "Money Doesn't Grow on Trees" triptych received 3rd Place during the Lake Norman Art League Spring show, and was also displayed in the Interior Design Society (IDS) model home in Charlotte. Through Skype and Zoom, I teach art lessons to first/second grade students in their classroom. Revealing an array of art techniques to the students provides great enjoyment for both them and me. My mission is to inspire young students to explore art mediums. During our years in Austin, I was accepted into the Fayetteville Art Walk 2012-2017, plus the Cherrywood Art Fair 2012, the Imagine 2013, 2015- 2017 Round Rock art show, Art Space Fiber Artists Exhibit 2016, and Round Rock Big Show June 2016. January 2018 we moved to Asheville, North Carolina, we enjoy life in the mountains.
